Study on Trends and Method(Tool and Strategies) of Intervention for Increasing Social Skills of Autism Spectrum Disorders

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine trends and method(tool and strategies) of intervention for increasing social skills of autism spectrum disorders. Data was collected 46 regional and international papers which contains the keyword ¡®Autism, Autistic disorders, Asperger, Social skill¡¯ and published from 2000 to 2013. Analysis of data was used classification according to ages, tool and strategies, purpose of method and intervention, approaches of intervention. We also classified the factors of method as description of disabilities¡¯ characteristic, demographic, intervention¡¯s setting, characteristic, purpose, and effectiveness of tool and strategies compared with others. In result of this paper, various approaches of intervention have been conducted globally. Cognitive approach for intervention and treatment also was focused from 2003. Especially, Unclassified approach, for example, mediated music and art was researched in south Korea, however, interpersonal relationship approach was outside. In the result of analysis for factors of method(tool and strategies), the most regional studies absented explain and description of participants, and demographic, especially, why this tool and strategy compared with others for the participant. Therefore, this study suggested approaches and practical factors of tool and strategies to discuss for intervention and treatment on evidence-based practices.
